Hi, my name is Gaurav. I'm a Software Engineer working in California, USA. Born and raised in a typical middle class household in Mumbai, I grew up with an interest in science and technology. Owing to that I pursued IT Engineering from Mumbai University and later came to Northeastern University to complete my master's degree in Computer Science.

After graduation, I moved to New York for my first big job at FactSet Research Systems Inc as a mobile engineer. I worked on the company's native mobile iOS application and learnt Objective-C and Swift. Over the years, I also worked on a hybrid mobile web application written using VueJS.

After a couple of years working on Front End and Mobile Development, I got an opportunity to work at PayPal Inc as a Full Stack Engineer (which is my current gig). In my current job, I have consciously tried to get out my comfort zone by trying backend projects as well. This has greatly expanded my understanding of highly scalable enterprise applications. Apart from these professional roles, I consistently try to experiment with newer technologies and concepts. Using this blog, I wanted to share my learnings and solidify my understanding of different tech topics.

In my spare time, I also look forward to my home workouts, reading and listening books on Libby app , playing PS5 games occasionally and exploring the Bay Area :)
